Mouth Guards

  • For the Youngers division most families find it the most convenient to purchase soccer cleats. Soccer cleats are easy to find in most sizes and in short notice. 
  • Football cleats are not allowed as they have a "toe cleat." These are not allowed during games.
  • As your player gets older they may want rugby boot or specific cleats with replaceable metal studs. They provide better traction on grass.

  • There are no particular requirements for mouth guards in rugby. However, the league discourages the "pacifier" type of guard because it difficult for your child to communicate and keep in their mouth. 
  • There are  mouth guard brands that are specific for children with braces.
  •  Most brands come in a child or adult size. We also encourage you to buy multiple to have in you child's bag.

  • Scrum caps are a form of head protection for your child. They are designed to protect the ears from damage in a scrum that might lead to "cauliflower ear."
  • They are a soft shell and often found on rugby gear websites, Amazon, and flag football gear sites. 
  • They are not required and are a personal choice for you and your family.
